Laser Faces: an installation by Antoni Arola
Barcelona, Spain

Laser Faces is an ephemeral installation created by that, through light, traces a three-dimensional route through the streets of Barcelona and establishes a dialogue with urban architecture.
The proposal explores new forms of illumination in public space, proposing the laser as a transgressive element capable of illuminating the streets, guiding pedestrians and redefining the perception of their urban journey, while reflecting on darkness as a more sustainable and less invasive strategy.

Within the framework of the festival, Laser Faces traced a route for visitors and interacted with Torre Glòries, generating a pixel animation and the appearance of anonymous faces on its facade, creating a disruptive scenario. This intervention, beyond signage, proposes a visual reflection on presence and absence as a human condition in contemporary urban space.
