In the context of Llum BCN Festival, 75 windows of the industrial facade of Simon Building were transformed into a dynamic light and sound performance. The piece called Pulse897 was created by reMM lighting studio.
The idea was to reproduce the iconic Simon mechanism from 1967, button 897, by means of lighting, transforming a main facade in a modular keypad.
The digital LED strips were controlled with the ProtoPixel system, creating two contrasting effects: an “extroverted” light, aimed to the window frames, and a "front" light, pointed at the centre of a circle lamp that built a pulsating and hypnotic optical effect.
