Torre Glòries: Lighting up an icon of Barcelona.

The Glòries Tower, a 38-stay skyscraper that marks the gateway to new technology located in Poblenou quarter, is one in a collection of high-tech architectures examples in Barcelona. A defining feature of the building is its natural illumination as it has 4000 LED devices that allow generation of luminous images on its facade. Its 144-meter façade demanded a control system capable of operating reliably at architectural scale, while preserving creative freedom.
The system is capable of creating 16 million colors and generate images on the outside of the Tower thanks to the Protopixel platform. Since 2010, we develop special lighting content for it. The entire façade can be addressed as a unified canvas or segmented into precise zones, enabling complex color transitions, gradients, and animated scenes
At Torre Glòries, we demonstrate how a robust lighting control platform can scale to iconic architecture, transforming a static façade into a living, expressive surface that responds to the city's rhythm.
