Transforming an Industrial Facade into a Impactful Experience

In the context of Llum BCN Festival, 75 windows of the industrial facade of Simon
Building were transformed into a dynamic light and sound performance. The piece called Pulse897 was created by
reMM lighting studio
.

The idea was to reproduce the iconic Simon mechanism from 1967, button 897, by means of lighting, transforming a main facade in a modular keypad.The digital LED strips were controlled with the ProtoPixel system, creating two contrasting effects: an “extroverted” light, aimed to the window frames, and a "front" light, pointed at the centre of a circle lamp that built a pulsating and hypnotic optical effect.
