The Reactable, an innovative musical instrument based on a tabletop system, was surrounded by interactive lighting objects that reacted to live music. The installation was displayed at Sónar Festival in 2014, within the Music Technology Group booth at Sonar +D.
ProtoPixel's smart lighting technology was used to create a synesthetic experience around the music of the reactable.
The patterns displayed in the LEDs were autonomously controlled by the music by analising frequency bands. ProtoPixel developed the lighting concept, implemented the application and technological solution, and was on charge of the lighting installation process.
