Fura baus 1

Lighting Costumes for an Opera

Fura dels Baus, the Catalan theater company of international fame, presented on stage their interpretation of Haydn's Creation.

The troupe connected the score of the Old Testament creation story with the development of the most powerful machine of modern times: the CERN particle accelerator in Geneva.

The director, Carlus Padrissa, opted for a set composed by a nine-meter crane, 36 huge helium balloons, a 1000-litre aquarium on the stage, and lighting costumes powered by ProtoPixel technology.

The costumes were controlled remotely by the company's video artist, who was using them as a screen, giving the audience an excepcional opera-like experience.
