Visiones de Luz

Light as medium: Mucho shapes Protopixel’s new visual identity

Barcelona, 2025

Build anything with light

Mucho crafted a brand identity that speaks the same bold, expressive tools we're determined to build. Their vision was key to shaping a modern visual language, one that reflects the creative power and beauty of light. Across every touchpoint, Protopixel doesn't just represent light but becomes part of the act of building anything with light.

We've sat with them to learn more about the process of creating a new visual identity for a project like ours. Take a look at the full interview below.

Widely, light is seen only as something to control—dimmed, brightened, switched on or off. But we set out to change that story.

We asked: what if light wasn’t just controlled, but created with? Suddenly, light becomes a tool for imagination, a medium to convey lighting visions, something that makes it possible for creators to bring projects to life with ease

The logo

For the new logo, the use of isometric projection stems from the idea of building the impossible—transforming new perspectives into tangible realities. In technical and engineering drawing, isometric projection is a way of representing three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional plane. As a form of axonometric projection, it ensures that all three coordinate axes are equally foreshortened, with a consistent 120-degree angle between each axis.

It is very clear to me that light is going to be the next revolution, just like music has been in the past years: Next up is light.
